In this post: Read about 3 additional characteristics of spiritually aware children (spiritually conscious children; spiritually awakened children; spiritual children; intuitive children): (1) spiritually aware children and technological abilities. Can technology be related to spirituality? (2) Being on a mission – Spiritually aware children are often on a life mission (3) Spiritually aware children walk as a lighthouse for others.

Spiritually aware children walk with an awareness that adults work hard to achieve and re-remember. This post is a part of a sequence of six posts focusing on the beautiful gifts spiritually aware children offer.

The first post in this sequence began by trying to understand together the context of this discussion and the many questions behind it. We also stopped to ask: what is spirituality? A question and definition underlying whether and how we can define our children as spiritually aware or not.

The first post also deepened the discussion of the first characteristic I felt should be brought to awareness: the great wisdom spiritually aware children offer us.

The second post focused on two additional characteristics: higher perspective and the unity of spiritually aware children with nature.

This post focuses on three additional characteristics:

  • Technological abilities
  • Being on a mission of ______
  • Serving as a lighthouse for others.

(1) Spiritually Aware Children and Technological Abilities.

Technological abilities. It is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of all the spiritually aware children I work with. However, in a world so dependent on technology and the positive gifts it brings, it is an aspect that we should not ignore. Especially as many spiritually aware children adore technology, and can’t live without it.

Technological Abilities

I’m among those challenged by technology. Give me a pen, pencil, and a notebook, preferably with a flowery cover, and I’m happy. I much prefer reading a printed book to any digital reading. Yet, observing the children walking around us, spiritually aware, their connection to technology needs to be discussed.

Technology can take two different paths in its contribution to our lives. First, it can be used to exploit the Earth’s resources and to distance people from their path, and it can distance children from an active life, by extensive passive watching of movies and TV programs or playing violent games.

However, technological advances also bring fresh, clean drinking water to dry areas. They bring amazing developments in medicine and allow global communication and the far reach of information.

Any future tracker knows that technology will bring forth so much more in the upcoming years. Hopefully, using the gifts of technology will lead to positive developments and will not be misused for negative developments.

Spiritually Aware Children and Technological Abilities

While many of those we refer to as spiritually aware children bring psychic and healing abilities, many others bring us new gifts of technology. They know how to operate “technology” with their baby fingers. They spend their hours on screens. Connecting, exploring, playing, and learning about so many “things” I probably don’t even know exist and definitely can’t name. Not all those hooked to screens are bringing humanity the gifts of technology. But many are, and this deeply affects our role as their parents and guides here on Earth.

For the most part, being hooked to a screen does not look “spiritual” at all. Sitting for hours in front of a computer or with a cell phone in hand is not what we “normally” define as a spiritual connection, as seen in nature.

Yet, who determines what is spiritual for each of us? If we agree that spirituality, or walking a spiritual path, is about doing what each of us came here to do, then being connected spiritually does not necessarily mean meditating or communicating with one’s higher guidance. Or practicing yoga or tai-chi. It is by walking the path each of us came here to walk.

Suppose the service you asked to bring to Earth and its inhabitants in this lifetime is a technological invention that might help many people or other entities, the Earth, plants, or our four-legged companions. Then, your training time as a child will involve more time spent with technology in its various aspects.

Does this mean that allowing children to lose themselves within their devices is OK? Not in my personal view.

Among my clients, several families face this challenge, and I often feel this is an invitation for the parents to walk with heightened awareness of what needs to be balanced.

What are the activities on devices that help your child to acquire skills they may need? What makes them happy? (Examples can be the challenge of programming or learning something new). And in contrast, what brings out the violent, frustrating part that I assume is not something any of us wish to nourish in our child, and spiritually is not considered an aware, awakened, or desired state as opposed to compassion, love, acceptance, calmness, and the like.

Communication

Coming from different cultures and backgrounds, we may all see the need for and the use of technology differently. Acknowledging all of its benefits, I personally believe that children need to have the ability to communicate with others not only through devices. To be able to hold a spoken conversation without their phone in their hands. They need to know how to listen to others, as well as to themselves. For some, it is about staying human and feeling emotions, allowing them to emerge and not hiding them, and turning off into the screen.

If we look at the same use of devices from another view, many spiritually aware children know how to be with themselves and don’t need numerous friends or interaction with others. For those, the comfort of communicating through text messages, for example (and there are probably more advanced options I have no idea of), offers them a way to stay connected while also being attentive to who they are, the amount of social interaction they need, and avoiding events that are not good for them energetically, while still being in the social scene.

Balancing technology: choices of life

For many families, balancing the use of technology is about providing their children with the tools to distinguish between positive and negative choices. Life choices. Choices related to little decisions when using these technologies that have become part of their body. How to respect others. How to respect myself. What do I share, and what do I not? How to be aware of what comes up in my social media and direct it to be positive. Knowing when I intentionally or unintentionally find myself watching something I know is harmful, unethical, or dishonorable. Again, to others, as well as to myself: the watcher or participant. When is a game bringing growth and teaching, and when does it encourage violence?

These are not merely technological educational decisions. These are tools that our children need to be able to use to guard themselves from a fast-evolving world and its negative attributes. Many spiritually aware children, bringing the gift of technological abilities, are also very sensitive. Thus, our guidance to them in how to protect their energy field, keeping their innate luminous essence, and being able to bring their gifts and beauty is of critical importance.

Spiritually aware children are our future, and technology is part of that same future.

Technology is part of our future if we use it correctly. If they use it correctly, it is the future of our children and grandchildren. As parents—those guiding our children into tomorrow, both their personal tomorrow and the collective tomorrow of humanity—the responsibility upon us is tremendous. Especially as we, parents/adults, are often not interested or cannot even understand their use of technology and keep up with its developments and frequent changes, the challenge is ever more significant.

It is a delicate role. A unique dance each one of us is invited to dance with each of our children. It is a dance in which we must lead. Being the teachers, the guides, and the thermometer and reflection of proper, positive, growth-oriented technology use. Hence, allowing those children, for whom technology is part of their gift, to stay true to their essence and grow into adults, that can walk the path they asked to, sharing the beautiful, needed service they wished to bring Earth and its inhabitants.

Is your child a spiritually aware child connected to technology? Any sharing of your insights in the comments will be valuable to many.

(2) Being on a Mission

We all come to Earth with a personal mission. This mission can be about learning and growth or giving and being of service. It is mostly both, with different aspects becoming more salient in different stages of our lives.

Many spiritually aware children carry a deep mission. Some bring perspective. Others are here to teach us about love. Unconditional, profound, heavenly love. To help us—their family, their parents, their community—center. Become present, and walk to the rhythm of our hearts. Some are here to change the world, heal the Earth, be healers, and bring new knowledge and technologies.

They all know they carry a gift, and some bring it forth from very young ages. Others walk through their childhood not knowing what they bring, but carrying an inner understanding that they are to bring something unique, important, and necessary.

Looking into the eyes of these children, babies born in the last 2-3 years, the mission is seen even stronger than before. They are here to transform. They are strong-willed. And they will not let us dismiss any invitation that they are set to bring.

Encourage their mission

It does not matter if they know their mission, or are absorbed in an activity that feels like their mission for the time being, as long as it is positive and empowering. Sometimes we need to acquire skills we will later use when another aspect of our mission here will come to fruition.

As parents to these amazing beings, it invites us to be very attentive to what they need. Which environments and settings make them happy? Helps them to flourish? To develop and enjoy their gifts? And which don’t.

Unfortunately, many school settings, even good ones that encourage children and teens to develop in what they are good at, require so much extra energy for everything surrounding the school system that they limit children to social conventions and what’s right and acceptable. Not all schools. But many. (A disclaimer… I don’t walk with an objective perspective about schools. I know they are good for many, and help save many who would be lost without them. As a family, one of the best decisions we ever made was to leave the school system. Our daughters asked to be home-schooled so that they have the time to do the things that make them happy).

Whatever your children/teens/personal preference or ability, be aware of the mission your child might be carrying. Encourage them and help them obtain the needed skills – which are different for each. Guide them and provide the tools that will help them walk their true self. Thus, when the time of their service will come, they will be ready, healed, and able.

(3) Serving as a Lighthouse for others

This is possibly one of the most challenging characteristics that spiritually aware children are walking.

Walking as a lighthouse can take place in awareness or, more silently, in their energetics.

In awareness: It is those children who demand justice. They will not tolerate any wrongdoing by other children, their parents, or teachers. Often, they will pull the fire towards themselves. They are afraid of nothing.

Silently: They are an energetic lighthouse. They walk with high frequency, and they know right from wrong. They may not share this with everyone or always speak up, but they radiate it in the frequency they carry.

When other children or teens get confused and they are around, their energy will be a positive mirror. A mirror of the other possible choices. More compassionate, more loving, and accepting, right words, actions, or thoughts.

No words are exchanged. It is a conversation of energies.

Why is being a lighthouse so tough?

These spiritually aware children walk as if they carry the world on their shoulders. Which we all do, and we all don’t. We each have our little (very significant but little) part of the huge puzzle of creation. And they need guidance to know what their story is and which stories belong to others to handle.

Those walking as lighthouses, both energetically and in silence, need guidance on how to care for their energetic field, as many of them are also empaths and collect energies that are not theirs.

It’s one of the most amazing gifts I have witnessed, and it is also a very difficult one to walk within our noisy world.

"Spiritually aware children are our future, and technology is part of that same future. It is a delicate role. A unique dance each one of us is invited to dance with each of our children..." "Many spiritually aware children carry a deep mission. Encourage their mission As parents to these amazing beings, it invites us to be very attentive to what they need..."
