Grandfather Four Winds and Rising Moon is a beautiful book I recommend for all natural-born shamans and spiritually aware children.
We first saw Grandfather Four Winds and Rising Moon at the Museum of Indian Art and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A few years ago, we lived nearby the museum for a couple of months and fell in love with the land and the people we met.
Grandfather Four Winds and Rising Moon caught our eyes immediately, and we sat there in the small children’s activity room to read it.
It is said that a good children’s book captivates not only the children but also their parents. This one definitely does.
And even now, when my daughters have grown and could dismiss this book as a book for children, they still, as teens, return to it.
It is a beautiful story that captures growth and change, the seasons, and nature’s elements and archetypes. It is told with compassion and the wisdom of the heart.
Beyond being a touching book to enjoy, it has a rare quality of an immediate connection to Earth and nature.
It is beautifully illustrated by Sally J. Smith.
A book for little shamans and all children walking connected to Mother Earth.
