Teen Psychic
All children and teens can walk connected to their true being – walking who they are.
In such a noisy world, to do this, we need to hear, listen, and trust our intuition—with our inner knowing guiding us.
A knowing that is beyond the available information.
Sadly, intuition (which everyone can connect to) and other psychic abilities (that some possess and others less so) are not spoken about.
Kids are taught history, and sometimes even about others who have such skills, but in most environments, these feelings, knowings, and abilities are not legitimized. Mostly, kids do not even talk or ask about them (many only when they are in a super hero phase).
This is where Julie Tallard Johnson’s book, Teen Psychic, comes in.
Teen Psychic provides all the basic information teens need and beyond, including lots of intuitive teen stories and how connecting to their intuition improved their lives.
This wonderful book, includes quotes from wisdom keepers and teachers, exercises and guidance, meditations, and journaling exercises. It provides both knowledge, such as the basics of the chakra system and our energy body, and an invitation to experience it for oneself.
Walking with psychic abilities also brings challenges, such as extended awareness or feeling like an outsider. The book reflects on these through the author’s story and those of other teens.
I wish all parents could talk about spirituality, intuition, and psychic abilities with their children and teens. Sometimes we want to, but are so caught up in our own fears, springing from the lack of guidance that we needed in our childhood, that even though we recognize our children need such guidance, we can’t provide it.
This book is a dependable book to offer our intuitive teens, trusting they will know what to take from it and what to leave for a later time.
It can also be a book to explore together. The guidance is teen-level yet deep and profound, and possibly, many seeking adults could benefit from it as well.

Julie Tallard Johnson is a productive author. These are not new books, yet they are all very relevant and so much better than many other books on spirituality for teens I’ve encountered.

Here is an excerpt from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s endorsement for The Thundering Years:
“Because the very purpose of life is to be happy, it is important to discover what will actually give us the greatest satisfaction. Everything we experience, whether it is enjoyable or not, affects either our minds or our bodies. Generally, it is our minds that have the greatest influence over whether we are happy or not. Our minds register everything that happens to us, no matter how small. As free human beings we can use our unique intelligence to try to understand ourselves and our world. But if we are unable to use our creative potential, we lose one of the basic characteristics of a human being. In order to find mental stability and peace, the mind itself can be trained. We can cultivate positive attitudes like kindness and compassion, tolerance and contentment. Julie describes many ways to create peace and happiness, some on your own and some with your friends.”
