Numerous books have been published on shamanic journeying. I tend to think this is because we each have slightly different experiences of it.
Here are a few I recommend for those wishing to both experience shamanic journeying from the comfort of their homes and obtain a better mental understanding of the practice. Almost everyone journeys without being aware that they are doing it. Thus, when hoping to add an organizing principle and map, an experience with someone who teaches shamanic journeying is sometimes a helpful path.
Just as with most healing modalities and tools that surround us, shamanic journeying, as a tool, is used in many ways. Different shamans, including those who author books, share slightly different maps.
Most books on shamanism, in general, also refer to shamanic journeying. It is a basic tool in shamanic practices. However, in my personal experience, some of the old shamanic maps are slightly out of date. It is extremely important to learn and experience the old maps. Yet, once you have done this, find ways to explore beyond them.
