On the Bank of the River of Time-A Mythical Healing Story

Once upon a time, along the river of time stood a human. Was he a man? Was she a woman? The edges of her figure were somewhat unclear and blurry. She seemed much taller than the average height. He appeared almost transparent to the naïve eye, covered with soft flowing feathery clothing.

The human started to walk downstream. And the more he walked, the more he took form. For some time, he played, trying to have his hair short, trying to grow it long, shifting from one body structure to another, playing with the color of its skin. The more she walked forward, the finer were the details until a beautiful, dark woman emerged. Her hair fell down to her legs. Her green eyes sparkling. Her hands carry light.

She thought it was her time to jump into the water that would carry her to her new life. But the river asked her to wait. “There are some more details you need to decide on,” the river told her with no words. “You cannot come in yet.” She sat and looked around, and there, on the other bank, were images of people walking. All kinds of families she could be born to. Couples, single people, from both sexes, from one, so much variety and so many combinations. She was overwhelmed. The river raised its water and pointed to the far right. “What do you think about those over there? Sitting together by the old tree?” it asked her. She looked and felt her heart open. “Yes. Those,” she replied. “It is not going to be easy, you know,” the river said, opening a screen-like surface before her eyes. “You must look,” it said. The woman did not want to look. The pictures she saw were unpleasant. But she did, as she had to make the best choice possible. Then the river ran the images forward, and the woman could see how her life would evolve with that couple by the old tree as her parents. “Yes.” She said. “Are you sure?” asked the river. “I am,” she replied and wanted to jump in.

“Not yet,” said the river. There is one more detail to go over before you flow into your new life. A book of shimmering light came down from above. “Nothing to do,” said the river, “just look for the last time, so that you remember what you asked for in this lifetime. So that you awaken your heart to the path you asked to walk.” The woman looked. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for the reminder. As she was so occupied with the creation of her temporary form, and choice of earthly parents, she almost forgot. She gathered the words of light coming out of the book and brought them into her heart. Then she sat quietly.

And while she was sitting, her form became smaller and smaller, until she was no more than an egg, an ovum, immediately after it met its sperm, inside of her human mother to be.
