Inside: What are divine signs? What are Synchronicities? What are divine invitations? How do I know what the sign means? How do we know what synchronicity means? Examples of signs. Examples of synchronicities. Guiding children and teens to embrace signs and synchronicities.

As we open to communication with our guidance, to the energetic aspects of our environment, interactions, and path, and to the possible, we might notice we receive signs, and synchronicities might grow in frequency.

Signs, divine invitations, and synchronicities appear both as tiny signals, almost unnoticed and at significant crossroads of life. Noticing, embracing their magic, and opening our hearts to their messages, changes our lives for the better.

What are signs and synchronicities?

Signs

Signs we plant for ourselves as part of our blueprint.

To my understanding and experience of our journey here on Earth, before we land here, we carve a plan—a blueprint for our journey here. Why are we coming here? Is this the first time? What do we wish to experience? Who do we wish to meet? What are the conditions we need? Who will be our earthly guides? Parents? Others? Both? Is there a mission? A goal? A service? These are just a few of the questions guiding the creation of our plan.

Once here, how will we know we are on our path, or how to find our way back to it, when our souls call us to?

We post signs and posts. Little occurrences, symbols of all kinds, or encounters that will hopefully awaken our knowing for ourselves and invite us back into our core.

Signs we receive as divine guidance.

Unfortunately, once here, many of us venture further than we hoped for. Our world is noisy and confused, and its core values do not invite alignment with our source and essence of Love. Many of us lose our path, our excitement, and our joy and thus freeze within our own adventure.

I relate to the idea that we are all guided by luminous ones who care deeply, and while allowing us to have our own adventure, make detours and mistakes, are also there for us, with the intention of making the most of our journey.

There are many ways to communicate with our guidance, and one of them is by signs. These can be about numbers, symbols from the natural world, songs, encounters, a memory popping up, an intuition we may think is ours but is actually guidance, and more.

What type of signs will you receive? The ones you are most likely to pay attention to.

Divine guidance can also appear in direct communication – a voice we hear, a vision, and other forms of energetic communication.

There are the signs we post for ourselves, and there are signs planted in our human space, with a nudge, direction, and invitation—sometimes with the mere intention of telling us they are out there, looking out for us.

How to interpret signs?

Signs are a popular topic, and by now, also from an archetypical perspective, there are numerous books, websites, and other sources of information elaborating on the meaning of every sign possible. The meaning of numbers, the meaning attributed to each animal or natural element, and if you see it with your eyes, it means, and in visualization, the meaning is…

If you read my article about oracle card decks and how to introduce children and teens to spiritual card decks, you know that I like avoiding any interpretation.

Seeing or visualizing a porcupine will have different meanings for different children, teens, or adults.

Sadly, we are raising our children in a world that is becoming increasingly passive. We expect everything to happen to us, forgetting the creators we all are. When we seek the interpretation of another for a sign, it’s sadly the same. We look for another to communicate with our own signs and posts for our journey or with the ones our divine guidance is planting on our path. Others have no way of accurately understanding these signs for us.

“But what if I don’t know what the sign means?” you may ask, as many do…

  • Don’t rush into interpreting. Let the signs be there for you, as a loving presence from yourself or from your guidance.
  • When you have some quiet time with yourself… sit with it: Meditate, journal, sketch, or start a mind map. Work with the tools that work for you, and see what comes up… to what thoughts or understanding does this sign lead you?
  • If the sign is a sign from the natural world, and you are experienced in shamanic journeying, try shapeshifting into your sign and learn what are the unique qualities of this creature or plant. The qualities you will sense are the ones you are invited to embrace. As shared in my article about cards, three children can see an elephant show up as their power animal. When shapeshifting, one would experience the quality of being large and noticed from afar. The second may sense the gentle nature of elephants, and the third may feel the community and deep connections between herd members. These are different qualities. What are you invited to embrace?
  • Trust that additional related signs will come your way and help you understand.

How about children and teens?

Children and teens are not much different. As we nurture their innate ability to experience the whole that we each are, the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of our humanity weaved with our spiritual essence, their direct connection to the field and the information in it, expands.

When young, they trust what they experience, and connect to everything around them. If they are surrounded with positive nourishment, they will take the signs in with open and loving hearts.

For many, especially for the spiritually aware, communication with their guidance and being guided is second nature.

As they grow, many experience a gap between their essence and their busy daily lives and distractions. This happens for many reasons and is not our focus here.

Many others stay connected, but we, their parents or significant adults in their lives, are not always aware of it.

Either way, if the conversation about signs comes up, my guidance is the same as for us adults.

  • Don’t interpret for them!
  • Tell them not to rely on other sources—“Do not search the Internet; it will give you info, but not necessarily the one communicated to you.”
  • Invite them to follow the same guidance above—to sit with it, use their tools, and trust.

Guiding children and teens, and better from a young age, to work with simple, energetic, and spiritual tools anchors these tools and others in their being, and most, know how to reach inside and recall the tools also much later in life, when they need them.

When guiding children & Teens to Noticing Signs…

Share your experiences with signs.

  • Be excited when you see a number that speaks to you or a song that carries a message.
  • If you are wondering about the meaning, share your confusion with them—make it okay not to know.
  • Tell them you sat with it, and how you walked inwards with your tools, to better understand, or take in, the divine message of love.
  • Have them know, that many signs are just a confirmation that they are on their way, that everything is alright, a message of love, without any further interpretation needed.

Guiding our children and teens about signs, synchronicities, and divine invitations starts with anchoring the feeling we have when we encounter a sign and the knowing that often, it’s just a message of LOVE, and no further interpretation or understanding is needed.

What are synchronicities?

Synchronicities are a concept introduced by Carl Jung describing events, which can also be receiving a sign that happens together at the same time or in a related time, and thus appear meaningfully connected. However, the cause or connection may often stay unclear.

The term synchronicities is used today to describe many types of phenomena.

For example:

Thinking of someone, and they text or call, or we bump into them somewhere a few days later, after we have not seen them for years. The cause may be thinking about them. But can our thinking about them bring them to call, or be in the same space as we are at the same time? Is it a coincidence, or could it be that divine guidance helped a little?

A sequence of signs received from our guidance leading us to be in a specific place, exactly when our future life partner, best friend, or where a new door will open to us. What is the cause? The signs? As humans, we question the spiritual nature of such sequences and experience them as the magic that they create. We ask, how come this happened? Could it be because we were guided?

We open one of our social media channels, and the first post we see is from someone we have lost contact with, sharing something important. Is that a coincidence? Or maybe we received some help so that we will know and reach out?

You are on your way to an event. For some unknown reason (the cause), you don’t seem to manage to get ready on time. Your hair is jumpy, and nothing feels both comfortable and appropriate for the event. Your home phone line rings when you are with one foot out of the door. You ignore it, but as you walk toward your car, it keeps ringing, and you think, well, maybe it’s…. And run back to answer. An hour later, on your way, accepting you are late, you see there was a car crash on your way. Possibly one that took place exactly when you were supposed to be in that exact location. There is a saying in Hebrew that every delay is a blessed delay… (free translation). [This example is from a friend’s real life – if they did not delay, they would probably have been hurt].

As soon as we start paying attention to divine signs and synchronicities, more will come our way.

Once we listen to the invitations sent as signs or synchronicities, into our hearts by our guidance, more signs and synchronicities will follow – guiding us to live our path.

Guiding children and teens about synchronicities?

Explaining the idea of synchronicities to children and teens is challenging.

It took me a long time to understand them myself.

I started with sharing examples and wondering out loud about signs. Getting excited when they appeared. Soon, my daughters also learned to recognize signs.

Once I felt they understood signs and were attentive to them, I brought up examples of synchronicities—magical encounters that were unexpected and beautiful.

By now, my daughters know that wherever I go, something will happen. I always have surprising, unexpected encounters and conversations with people I’ve never met before. The magic of direct guidance is part of my life and, thus, part of theirs.

I’ve explained the logic of synchronicities to all teens in our group. Some had more such experiences and thus got it, based on the examples they had from their own lives. Others, are still exploring.

Bringing the idea and possibility of synchronicities and their magic to the teens’ awareness opens the needed door.

We invite them to notice and pay attention, and then – it’s theirs to explore further.

Book Image: Divine Synchronicity: Women’s Stories of Magic, Miracles & Manifesting, published by Inspired Living Publishing™.

A new book, which included 23 real-life stories of signs, divine invitations, and divine synchronicities.

Why do I feel it could be an amazing resource?

Often, we see the signs but don’t trust them. A synchronicity comes our way, and we dismiss it.

Reading these stories can provide you with just the examples you need. You won’t be able to ignore the signs you or Spirit plants in your way after reading them.

I wish to be transparent – my story, titled A Bouquet of White Flowers, is one of the stories shared in this collection. A story of my divinely orchestrated, surprising, to say the least, meeting with the other woman from my car crash, in a clothing store, exactly a year after our crash, and what followed.

I also relate to this divine meeting in the last chapter of The Promise We Made: Three Universal Soul Promises We Made to Our Children.
