Good parent-child communication sits at the base of our healthy evolvement as humans. Spiritually aware children need their parents to communicate with them also about the spiritual and energetic.
Allow me to share a case study with you demonstrating how shamanic energy healing contributes indirectly to opening a door for better communication with spiritually aware children.
A case study – Opening a door for communication – Sally
Sally, a sweet eight-year-old soul, came to see me with her mom. Since she was very little, her dreams woke her up. And even if they didn’t, she woke up tired, as if she did not get any sleep. I started with playing the light ball game (see more about it here).
While we played, Sally constantly looked at her mom with a slightly uncomfortable expression. I wondered if it was because she did not feel anything and was unsure how to tell me, or…
“Why don’t you play with us as well?” I asked Sally’s mother. Both of them raised their eyebrows in the same way. I smiled. Sally’s mom was happy to join in the playing. She made a massive ball of energy, and the smile on her face grew and grew.
Meanwhile, Sally looked at her mom, surprised, slowly reaching her little hand into her mother’s energy ball, her eyes widening, as she felt the warmth between her mother’s hands.
She turned her face, from her hand to me, and back to her mom. Speechless.
“Are you surprised your mom can sense these energies?” I asked. “Yes,” she nodded with her head. I mediated the needed healing energetically, in parallel with the play with the light ball. As we continued working, Sally was quiet. At some point, she reached out her hand to hold that of her mom. She was relaxed, and within a few days after the session, her sleep significantly improved.
Sally’s healing was partially related to the communication with her mom.
She needed the confirmation that her experience of energy around her, and in her sleep, is ok.
Once her mother opened up to it as well and reconnected to a gift she always walked with, Sally felt safer. Thus, her sleep improved.
Children often come for a session to reawaken their parents’ connection to Spirit and open up the communication about it in their homes.
General cases versus specific ones
This scenario highlights something that often happens around shamanic energy healing sessions.
Before I continue and shine a light on it, please note that this scenario is a general case, composed based on several real cases. Generating such a general scenario based on real cases allows better protection of my clients’ privacy. Those of you who are able to track energetically, intentionally or not, cannot track when it’s a general scenario. If it was a specific person, you would be able to.
Parent-child communication about energy
Children speak the language of energy.
That is, they speak it when we, as their parents, did not encourage them to forget.
And sadly, sometimes, even if we remember and bring it forth explicitly within our home, someone else in our children’s environment awakens their doubt: a teacher, a grandparent, another parent, or friends.
As a society, there are themes we talk about, and there are others we talk about less often or only privately.
Energy is one of those things.
We mostly don’t share our intuition, knowing, or private conversations with our power animal, Spiritual guidance, the trees, earth, or elements. We don’t tell people that we can see their aura.
Children sense a lot—much more than they share.
When encouraged, it is part of the family’s language.
When not, they learn at a very young age that it’s not to be talked about.
And then, their mother (usually the mother) brings them to an energy healing session with a red head (me :)) who assumes they feel something. To meet me, their parents need to get their child’s permission and communicate about it.
In this process, a door to talking about energy opens. Taking the communication between the parent and the child a layer deeper.
A perspective on parent-child communication
There are different perspectives on conversations and sharing within the family.
I personally believe that we should be sharing as much as possible in an age-appropriate manner.
When we as parents, share, our kids learn to share. When we listen, they learn to listen.
Both are similarly important. To take it one step further, it’s about sharing in all facets of our lives. Again, at an age-appropriate level. Energy is one of these facets.
A side benefit: An amazing, beautiful, and gratitude-filled blessing of an energy healing session is often that this door opens. The door to shared communication that deepens our relationships with our children in ways we never imagined.
Must we come to a shamanic energy healing session with our kids for this to happen?
No…
Everything around us is energy. Everything around us is alive.
